A class, start to finish
A class is thirty minutes in your pool. A session is eight classes, two a week.
The instructor arrives
A few minutes early, with the kickboards and the toys. The gate closes behind us, and your adult takes a seat on the deck.
Settling in
The swimmer gets in by the steps or the wall, and the class starts with bubbles, floating or kicking, whichever the level calls for.
One skill, practiced
Each class works on a skill from the swimmer's level, with the instructor within arm's reach and plenty of turns.
Out and dry
Towels first. The instructor tells your adult what the class worked on and what to try before the next one.
Who is in the water
The instructor is in the water with the swimmers, within arm's reach. An adult from your household stays on the deck for the whole class, close enough to talk to the instructor and watch. Phones stay away from the water's edge.

What a swimmer brings
The family supplies the pool, the towel, the swim shirt or suit and goggles if the swimmer likes them. We bring the kickboards and the toys. Tie long hair back, and have a dry towel ready on a dry spot.
A towel for each swimmer
Swim shirts are welcome in every class
Goggles, if the swimmer likes them
